A contemporary Tahitian pearl necklace, made with irregular shaped baroque pearls that will shimmer with beautiful colours and overtones, finished with an 18 carat white gold clasp.

Grown in the black-lipped Pinctada margaritifera cumingii oyster in the remote tropical waters of the eastern South Pacific, these saltwater pearls have been hand selected for their quality. The shine on each pearl, which is called lustre, is excellent.

The saltwater pearls that have been selected for this necklace are approximately 9-11mm in diameter and 11-13mm in length.

The eye-catching colour of the pearls throughout the necklace displays all the characteristic silvery light grey, green and peacock hues of Tahitian pearls.

Baroque shaped pearls have a noticeably irregular appearance, which means that they may have some minor imperfections and characterful circles present on the surface of the pearl.

This baroque shape is quite typical of Tahitian pearls and adds to their charm and individuality. The pearls have been matched to create a pleasing uniformity across the necklace.

Each 45cm long necklace is unique and, individually hand knotted between each pearl, is finished with an 18 carat white gold ball clasp.

Pearl Size 9-11mm width and 11-13mm length

A round pearl is measured across its diameter in millimetres.

For non-spherical, baroque and other shapes of pearls, both the length and width of the pearl is measured.

The most popular Akoya and Freshwater pearl sizes for earrings and necklaces are between 7 and 9mm in diameter.

South Sea and Tahitian pearls are typically worn between 9 and 11mm in diameter, or larger for more statement pieces.
