Our best-selling pearl necklace is also one of the most traditional. The techniques for culturing a classic saltwater Akoya pearl were developed in the early 1900s and this jewellery icon has been a key accessory ever since. Grown for between 10 and 14 months in oysters, each pearl is carefully selected and matched by Winterson to make a stunning necklace, with pearls that reflect the light and illuminate the face beautifully.
Our Classic Akoya Pearl Necklace is made with 7-7.5mm Japanese Akoya pearls and is strung by hand with silk and individually knotted between each pearl to make a 43cm length necklace that will sit comfortably just below the collarbone. The pearls in each necklace have a white body colour, with a pink overtone, a sharp lustre and smooth surface.
This is a beautifully versatile necklace, that can be worn casually with jeans or can effortlessly lift the look of evening wear. A perfect bridal present or gift for graduation, each necklace is available with an 18 carat white or yellow gold lobster clasp.
